Across under-resourced communities, students face academic gaps, unmet social-emotional needs, and barriers outside the classroom that make learning harder. When children struggle, it’s rarely because of a lack of potential—it’s because the systems around them are fragmented or under-resourced.
We believe that when a child is supported fully, they can thrive. And when we raise a child, we raise a village.
At Raising A Village Foundation, we start with students—supporting their academic growth, confidence, and well-being, and then work outward to engage families and caregivers as essential partners in that journey. By strengthening the systems around children, we help create the conditions they need to succeed in school and in life.
Through high-quality, culturally responsive academic support and enrichment, we help students build strong foundations in literacy, maths, and critical thinking. Our programs are designed to meet students where they are—academically and emotionally, so they can grow with confidence.
When students feel supported, they show up differently in the classroom, at home, and in their communities.
As we work with children, we intentionally engage their caregivers—recognizing them as their child’s first and most important teachers. By connecting families to resources, education, and peer support, we help caregivers strengthen their capacity to support their children’s learning and overall well-being.
Supporting families is how we sustain student success.
We partner with schools, community organizations, and local leaders to ensure children and families receive coordinated, responsive support. Our work is grounded in trust, collaboration, and shared responsibility because lasting change happens when communities lead.
We invest in Driven Student Corps Members (DSCs) as leaders, equipping them with the skills, tools, and support to lead with confidence and care. Through coaching, professional development, and real-time learning, DSCs strengthen their capacity to tutor students, collaborate with schools, and model what it looks like to lead with purpose, accountability, and heart.
Across our programs, we focus on:
“Ms. Lisa helped me throughout the entire semester and was always incredibly supportive. She made learning easier and more enjoyable. She’s truly a 10 out of 10, and I would love to have her back next school year. I hope she’s doing well on her journey!”
