CityTutor DC Highlights RAV's High-Impact Tutoring Program

As a proud partner of CityTutor DC, we are honored to have the Driven 2 Succeed program recognized for its high-impact tutoring reach among underserved students in the DC metropolitan area. In their latest press release, CityTutor DC, a coalition of 50+ schools, community organizations, and city leaders aiming to expand access to high-impact tutoring for 10,000 students across DC, highlighted RAV’s implementation of a pilot using the CityTutor DC 6th grade math curriculum. Through the use of this pilot, D2S tutors reported that “they felt better resourced and more effective in their roles” (CityTutor DC). As a result of the resources provided through the pilot, tutors also felt like they had more opportunities to understand the material they were teaching students, as well as how to teach it effectively.

In the press release, Raising A Village Founder and CEO Jaleesa Hall also reported the tremendous success that the Driven 2 Succed program has yielded across multiple school sites. ‘“In the last three years, the RAV Driven 2 Succeed tutoring program has served 2,000 children and families locally. Overall, we have seen 80% of our students show positive grade increases, 85% have perfect attendance, and 92% complete all homework and classwork assignments on time,”’ said Jaleesa.

Thank you to our partners at CityTutor DC for supporting our mission to build pathways to success for underserved children and youth! Read more of the release at the link below.
