RAVF Receives Engaged Nonprofit Award
#ICYM on October 8, 2024, our Founder & CEO, Jaleesa Hall, attended the National Partnership for Student Success (NPSS) Higher Education Summit. During the ceremony, U.S. Deputy Secretary of Education, Cindy Marten, presented awards to fifty national institutions who have accomplished stellar achievements that align with the Biden/Harris initiative for education. Raising A Village Foundation was selected to receive the “Engaged Nonprofit” award.
“The Driven to Succeed Program provides academic, social-emotional, and postsecondary readiness support in school, after school, and during the summer,” said U.S. Deputy Secretary Marten during the award presentation. “As a Supporting Champion organization, Raising a Village Foundation has provided a model for others in our network seeking to establish cross-sector collaborations to answer the call to action.”
Just days later, on October 10th, awardees were invited to the White House to attend a reception in their honor. During the White House reception, Jaleesa was interviewed on the accomplishments of RAVF and what it means to receive such a prestigious honor. Click on this post to hear the full interview. Congratulations to the RAVF staff, Board of Directors, Driven Student Corps mentors and tutors, D2S learners, and community partners. Together, let’s continue to Reach, Teach, and Inspire the next generation of leaders!
