Driven Student Organization (DSO) is a program created in 2009 on the campus of Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta, Georgia. DSO’s purpose is to promote positive events and activities for the campus and surrounding communities. Our motto is “Steering YOU in the RIGHT direction”. Driven adheres to this motto by providing high-quality programming for college students, youth, and families through programs like our Real Talk Sessions, The First Step Campaign, Let’s Make A Difference Week and the Driven 2 Succeed Program.
Under the umbrella of the Raising A Village Foundation, Driven Student Organization has become a national higher education initiative with chapters at colleges and universities across the U.S. DSO is committed to a high standard of scholastic achievement, community engagement, and leadership. Driven offers its members exclusive opportunities and connections through scholarships and awards, partnerships with major corporations, career advancement and graduate program advisement.

To organize and promote positive activities on campus that will impact the lives of students and community residents.
To effect positive change on college campuses by advocating for advancements in the counseling and disability services departments.
To promote initiatives that keep students active and focused on their physical and mental health.

to pursue a higher calling.
If you believe in the power of scholastic achievement, community engagement, leadership, and dream of working and learning alongside others like you, it may be time to take that first step and begin the process of chartering a Driven Student Organization chapter on your college campus.
All participants should maintain a grade point average of 2.0 or higher
Participants should attend and provide support for all community events
Students are asked to pay a $20 membership fee each semester
Participants are expected to attend monthly meetings; dates and times will vary per chapter
Give Thanks Blanket Drive: Blankets collected will be distributed to the less fortunate during the winter months
First Step Campaign: Mental health awareness events held in collaboration with campus Counseling & Disabilities Services departments
Real Talk Sessions: Panel discussions held by students to discuss current topics circulating on campus and in the world
Empowerment Zone: A guest speaker is invited to discuss topics surrounding self care and good mental health practices
Improv Nights: This improv acting event brings students together for a night of laughter and fun
The Reconnect: These open discussions consist of faith talks, prayer sessions, and bible studies
Driven Week: Students are invited to attend fun activities designed to promote Driven and increase student involvement
Let’s Make A Difference Week: Is an outreach program that focuses on the unhoused communities
Community Schools Collaborations: Volunteer events held throughout the year that provide members with opportunities to give back to local schools through mentoring and tutoring
Driven 2 Succeed (D2S) is a youth-development program for elementary, middle, and high school students that provides support during the school day and after school in the areas of academic interventions, social emotional learning, and college and career readiness.
Raising A Village understands the importance of parental achievement and its impact on families. Raising A Village’s “At the Table” provides adult education programs and resources to improve basic skills, achieve a family-sustaining income, and bolster family engagement.
We the Village is a program whose objective is to create an enhanced quality of life through cultural experiences. Our intent is to provide a resource by implementing arts programs, in the communities we serve, that nurtures commerce, education and technology.
