My Time at Kelly Miller Middle School!

Hello Neighbors,

So far, I've been mainly focusing on managing services at Kelly Miller Middle School. We are currently working with 15 students through the Response to Intervention (RTI) program. Response to Intervention aims to identify struggling students early on and give them the support they need to be successful in school. Though we are working with 15 students currently, we anticipate up to 75 students as the school year goes on and as students navigate COVID-19 learning loss.

My experience with Kelly Miller Middle School so far has been enriching. We have great school partners who are committed to their students in ensuring they receive the academic support they need during these uniquely challenging times.

My favorite experience thus far working with students at Kelly Miller is their pure enthusiasm and openness to work with and learn with their Driven Student Guide (DSGs) tutors. Learning from home is not easy- by no means. It can be exhausting being in virtual classes all day for students. And yet, they are fully engaged and ready to go when they meet with their DSG's. I appreciate our Kelly Miller students for allowing the Driven 2 Succeed team journey with them this academic school year. Math and ELA won't know what hit them once we get through with them!

We will likely participate in a Halloween socially distant activity in the upcoming week. More details forthcoming:)
