Welcome to The Village, Marc Shapiro!

Marc Shapiro will serve as Raising A Village Foundation's Communications Associate, Media Relations, where he will tell our communities' incredible stories and expand RAV’s public presence. Marc, a DC-area native, holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications Studies from American University. He has worked as a public relations professional with various clients, including a Ward 8 public charter school. Both this experience and his later role as an English teacher ignited his aspiration to empower underserved communities by increasing access to educational resources. "As a DC native, it is an honor to work with Raising A Village to help fight the inequality and lack of resources that many of our proud communities face,” says Marc. “Working with the Communications Team, I am in a fantastic position to apply my skills and experience to help us further our reach and fulfill our mission.”
