Britney Padilla: Welcome to The Village!

Britney Padilla joins the team as a Raising A Village AmeriCorps VISTA Member serving as Site Lead at H.D. Woodson High School. Originally from Laredo, Texas, Britney holds a bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Texas State University. Through her degree program, she gained experience supporting students in her school district, which sparked her interest in serving with Raising A Village. Seeing the impact she was able to make on her students helped her realize the difference she could make in her community. During her service year, Britney looks forward to connecting with her colleagues and interacting with the students. “My mother has always been my role model as it relates to advocacy, and giving back to the community was my way of following in her footsteps,” Britney expressed. “Being able to support someone and give them the opportunity to be self sufficient gives me hope that our society will be better for our youth.”

Please join us in wishing a warm welcome to the newest member of the Village, Britney Padilla!
