NBC News4 Airs High Impact Tutoring Segment Featuring D2S Site Coordinator, Lindsay Washington

On March 13th, Raising A Village Foundation Site Coordinator, Lindsay Washington, was invited to share firsthand experience on the positive effects of High Impact Tutoring (HIT) with News4 I-Team Investigative Reporter, Tracee Wilkins. This in-depth human-interest piece highlights the benefits of HIT as it relates to closing the learning divide for urban youth caused by a global pandemic. But it also reveals the stark reality that as federal relief dollars go away, so does the hope that HIT programs will be able to continue to provide support for inner city students on such a broad scale.

“Providing high impact tutoring during the school day makes it more equitable for the students who normally don’t see services like this,” explained Lindsay. “This type of access puts students more on par and builds their confidence both in and out of the classroom.”
