Founder & CEO Jaleesa Hall Participates in GWU High-Impact Tutoring Panel
There is power in partnering to provide quality educational experiences for students! Raising A Village Founder and CEO Jaleesa Hall was honored to serve as a panelist at the George Washington University Partnering to Sustain High-Impact Tutoring: Sharing and Working Meeting event on Tuesday, September 12, 2023. The event brought together higher education institutions, local tutoring providers, school administrators, funders, and high-impact tutoring advocates to promote the sustainability of programs centered around educational support. Jaleesa was privileged to join a dynamic discussion on higher education, student-led high-impact tutoring programs moderated by Cat Peretti, Executive Director of CityTutor DC, along with fellow panelists Amy Cohen, Assistant Vice Provost and Executive Director of the Honey W. Nashman Center for Civic Engagement and Public Service at GWU; Dr. Ocheze Joseph, Director of Undergraduate Programs at American University; and Jessica Lee, Associate Director of the Immigrant Justice Initiative.
"It was a tremendous experience being able to sit alongside fellow educators, advocates, and change-makers who are equally committed to transforming the world of education," said Jaleesa. "As a nonprofit executive, I have witnessed firsthand the importance of education in underserved communities. We must work together to champion innovative tutoring methods, as our collective efforts can pave the way for so many students."
